This just proves the quality of the filmmakers coming from my city, and is very important especially since it follows what happened in one of the parts of Sarajevo 1992 - 1993.

I can’t talk about the movie before I see it obviously and I don’t think I’ll see it before I go back home but this is one of the reasons you should see it if you can. Also, I acutally auditioned for a minor role in this movie and didn’t get it, so you know you can expect only good acting when you go and see it.

So, turned to wordPress. LOVING it! Aside from the obvious lack of direct template meddling blogger has, Wordpress really takes care of their users and I’m still discovering all the options I can use here. This also means that I’ll be leaving that whole “earning online” shit for a while. No more ads! Just my beautiful content, read it and enjoy. So now the old Round2Create.blogspot.com becomes absolete but I’ll keep it for awhile until all people interested in what I’ve got to say transfere either to r2cu.wordpress.com or r2cu.co.nr.

In other news, comic book related: this is the year when a small meeting of comic
book collectors, admirors and publishers in Makarska, Croatia, becomes larger then life. Meant to become the best comic book convention in Croatia and probably the region, the First Makarska Strip Festival will be held 19th - 21st May 2006 in a seaside city Makarska, Croatia, with the main guest being Hermann Huppen!! You can find info in Croatian here, but I’ll translate the jist of it: for convention program, accomodation reservations etc., contact the organizer Dario Antunovic (or whoever he put in charge of this) on info@mastripfest.com. Maybe you want to make the reservations early because the complete website comes out on March the 1st, probably with an english translation and everyone will be able to see it. ;)

This was planned for some time but I forgot to promote it until now. What I can tell you is that this won’t be the classical comic-nerd-meeting-around-their-favorite-author type of festival. Of course there’ll be that, but the more important thing (and the reason why Hermann is coming in the first place) are the beautiful seaside and climate, delicious food and wine and tours of beautiful sights in and around Makarska. Damn it, of all the years I choose to live in America, I just had to choose this one.

Since I started with comics, let’s continue in the same tone. Comics Ign is I guess a “wing” of a game-oriented Ign.com, a whole network made just for crazy people who enjoy the kind of stuff they offer. Anyways, I think it’s worth checking out AND they have a shitty video about the Wonder Con 2006. Why shitty? Well, primarily bcos it doesn’t have anything to do with comic books (though I might’ve miss-heard, it could’ve been a movie or dress-up convention), and most importantly, they didn’t even catch me in the background!!! Seriously people, I was there and around all those scenes they shot. AND that girl with the vinyil costume? I’ve seen her, yep, not really hot, just an unsuccesfull attempt to cover her thong and boobs… So I guess it’s a good way to see just what the atmosphere was like, except that figurine shit, come on, there was a whole ROW of porn movie stars waiting for men to come around and look them up, buy their photo’s, DVD’s etc. (no touching, trust me, I got the convention hall closed on the account of rape charges that were canceled later after I agreed to a court order and deleted all the photo’s from my camera… or should I really be writing this?).

But I’ll be writing about Wonder Con later after all the impressions have settled in. It’ll be a completely new post category “Reports”, where all future reports of the same kind will go.
Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

Tell me, how else without the Google Video I would be able to post this video of the most famous Bosnian rapper and I will.
But until then, enjoy the music. For foreigners, the text talks about Bosnia since the war and just where are we going. In my humble opinion, the best portrayal of just that and all Bosnians should always have these last words of the song in mind:

When he builds the house/[Bosnian] puts a part of himself there
Destroy to the foundations, no more/Foundations are eternal like river Sava.
Well, it looses somewhat in the translation. I didn't know until today he made a video for this song...
Anyways, now all of you can put your favorite videos directly into your blogs. Neet in my opinion...
I've had enough for today, I'm going to sleep.
Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

So I'll just post the ones I have, and everybody who knows me will say "That is SO Emir!". (Implying a Warner Bro's "original series" children these these days seem to be enjoying very much - thanks to my 10 year old cousin, now I know it too!.)

SiP!!! Never thought I'd go through another soap opera (after "Gaviota" they all seem so repetitive and boring ...) but this one's actually a comic book soap opera, going on for ten years and since Terry Moore will be at the WonderCon in 8 days (oh yeah, Frank Miller is also coming if somebody's interested...), Dekara just happened to mention that he's one of his favorite writers/artists and... *hint* Come on, people, what does he do with comics he likes???! *hint* Anyways, started reading and got hooked, with Katchoo and Francine, David and Tambi... Strangers in Paradise get you going (or not) like any other soap opera, but the humor (oh the laughs) and theme's it describes and analyzes... Well, let's just say that Moore's been doing for the past 10 years what some television shows (and even movies) are uselessly attempting only recently. Great reading and looking forward to the next issue (but also very glad that the series will end in 2007... 'cos if it doesn't, I'm coming and I'm coming with the guns flaring!). [That's also the main reason why I haven't done any writing here, sorry...]

So you don't think those ads I've posted all round can't be useful to anyone and are there just to make your life more miserable - I'm making this post with a peace of software from one of them - Qumana. T'is an interesting little piece of blog editing software that has some nice extra features then your usual blogger. Hey, if it doesn't work or I get bored, I can always go back. But so far it's working fine. Oh yeah, and it gives another chance to earn some money - hence the AdGenta pick to the left and a new ad below. Maybe this way I'll make more money faster then with the AdSense.

So, in 7 days, WonderCon. That's going to be FUUUUN!!! I'll take so many photo's there won't be enough space to post them all! But I'll go around the San Francisco as much as I can in those four days aswell. Just have to finish a couple of assignments before I go...

There's a group of young people I'm a part of and they try to make the best of natural resources Bosnia offers in the time they have. This is the link to the Blog in Bosnian, but soon there'll be a web site soon so I'll keep you informed when and how it turns out.

In other less important news, I found that my favorite Sarajevo radio, eFM Student radio (link on the left) has an option of listening to their program online (probably's been there for years, I just didn't pay attention... - you can paste the link directly to the RealPlayer and listen without your browser on, something neither iTunes nor MediaPlayer have); Bush addressed the nation and actually said that America is "victorious in Iraq". But Democrats didn't booh! him on that, no, they've got more style, they actually boohed! him on the social security issues. All for the ellections... But I really don't want to get into it, just like that issue about Denmark journalists making every Muslim in the World angry. Check out what I've done in life so far (in general terms).
EMIR PASANOVIC (November 5th 1983 - ???)

Born and grew up in Sarajevo, went through fire and brimstone (War 1992 - 1995) and came out a better man.
Finished Elementary and High School there quite remarkably since I never really sat down and studied (well, except Math but that's like, you either know it or you don't). Found out what it's like to study at the University though...
In the process I got involved with a lot of seriously crazy people trying to make the World a better place to live in, and gone crazy with them so I continue trying that insane task. Traveled around Europe, liked Poland most of all... and Budapest, though we should've had more time to walk around.
University you might ask? Continued my traveling, decided to pursue a career in justice majoring in Law (the only school without ANY math), and it got me a scholarship to come to Mississippi. Weird, I know, but I didn't choose where to come.
Also, I like languages I know and books, yes, quite fond of books and "graphic novels". That's why I try my best with two and a half publishers to bring what I enjoy in English to Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian. Pages from my most recently published translation you can see here and here (comic book is "Brit" by Image Comics writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore).

Contact info:

The Official Blog Email

Private Email

And a little reminder to post comments about everything you dont like if you dont care so much about emailing me. Pet Professional, after the recommendation of senor Kurtz at the PVP, turned out to be quite entertaining (all the pointless animal killing aside, and since they're not really real it can do no harm... right??? Or maybe little children still shouldn't read it...). I have a lot of links, some for my easier navigation when I loose or don't have the usual Bookmarks on the computer, and some for your enjoyment. But I've decided, beside providing you with content, I need to make that content easily accessible.
And I've decided to start, again, with Google. All of you guys that use AdSense know this but probably don't pay much attention: there're people out there creating bull-blogs (I have a patent on this word ;)) with words that attract the best payed adds. Now I believe that they're the ONLY ONES visiting those blogs 'cos they usually have only one post and nothing informative at all, and that's I guess how they make money.
Some might ask "What do they do with such well earned money???" Well, I'll tell you: they pay Google to put ads on mine and your blogs, with links to THEIR Blogs. That's all fine, but they might actually be driving off those same advertisements you would like to click on from your blogs, and the prospect of not making a $100 dollars in another 6 months just makes me mad.
Now I know that this might sound like overreacting, let the people do their thing, everybody makes money as they can, but I've decided I sure as hell won't let them do it off of my back (unless they're really nice or really HOT, which I doubt) and I don't think you should either.
Here's how you do it:
- In the Google AdSense for Content click on the Competitive Add Filter.
- Once there, you can just type in the web adress of sites you don't want to be displayed on your blog/website.
Or you can check out the longer Google Instructions here.
I guess this was a Google option for partially controling these kinds of "intelligent" blog ideas, and since control over the blogs where adds are displayed at and their content, is as ever a bad idea (look at just what U.S. Government wants to do with the control over our search results ...), I'll just make a list of sites I'm blocking and you can check them out and may decide to do the same.

      debt-consol.blogspot.com
meso-information.blogspot.com

It seems that it doesn't block for the moment, cos I listed these just a minute ago but it's worth the shot. I know that these're the same blogs but just in case...
Since this is my blog and I can do anything I want with it, :D here's a list of "Blog advertisers" whos style and approach I dislike and have decided to block from my adds.

maggiechurch.blogspot.com
saveemma.blogspot.com [This one's especially bad, really avoid. :(]
www.blackchristianpeoplemeet.com/?t=GGC17883
www.dougtooke.catholicweb.com
www.loveandseek.com
www.newkosovo.org

Also I invite all of you to post here your blocked web sites and adds you don't want to see on my Blog. Seriously people, my roommate actually told me this morning I was breathing hard for some reason, and I think it was from exhaustion!
But I think my muscles are actually rejoycing at the chance to do some real work after a long time. I think the only other time I felt like this in the past five years was after a two day trip across the mountains around Sarajevo with skiis and a lot of other mountaineering gear. Don't want to spread the story long and wide 'cos most of the stuff I mention you wouldn't have even heard of anyways.
Yes, it's Yoga. Before Yoda, today Yoga. I guess I was actually subcontiously considering Yoga lessons when I posted that picture... But anyways, there're a lot of FREE lessons for OleMiss students and teaching staff (heh, when will we see a thing like that in Bosnia???) during the week and I had some extra time yesterday and hence my complaining. We actually did the same excercises as in this small pic, but don't ask me to tell you the names, I haven't a clue.
Ofcourse, swimming afterwards and some dancing last night didn't help me feel better today. ;)
Finnaly got my laptop back. Don't you hate it when that Config-Sys file disappears for no apparent reason? Luckily I have a computer geek friend that helps me in situations like this (thank you Varun :D), and now can continue with what's interesting.
First of, RSS. Or in my case, Atom.xml service. Blogger with Google gives it's users (and with that, me too) an Atom feed of our blogs that people can sign up for. And yes, here're suggestions for you to make your blog noticable in this net of all different people talking at once. Thank you Lord of Net! :)
Now how to read these feeds? Google's taken care of that for you aswell! First you have to have a google account. If you don't, just contact me and i'll send you the invitation (though, who doesn't have it these days ;)). With that, you sign up at the Google Reader web site and add the sites you want to receive the feed from. Easy to use, a lot simpler than clicking on all those links you have lying around. And now you can subscribe to my Blog too!
Now I'll be going on, it seems there's a party somewhere i need to get to. Have a nice Saturday night ;)
Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

Plus, he'll put a link to my blog so he's a good guy. You can check him daily from the sidebar on the left. I especially like the story about that fanatic that ran into a lions cage yelling "Jesus will save me!" and was eaten by the lions.
Film Loop - A new photo sharing tool that lets you put your album on a "loop" visible to your friends across the world. Goes hand in hand with Photobucket.com (that's where I got it from in the first place), the website I use for holding most of the pictures and buttons you see here. Google's been doing a lot to make our web eperience better, but it can't all be good. Many choices, all look formidable (I made one just for the fun of it couple of posts earlier). But what I'd really like to see one of these web tools do is offer you an option to upload your own backgrounds into their generator ...

Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

Are we really going somewhere? Is this existence of significance to anyone but ourselves? Does Emir really exist and if yes, why hasn't anyone dropped him in a river when he was born???
Well, not the latter. :) Since I don't have a link to my profile(s) from here, some might have wondered just who this guy is (especially those that don't like reading my long posts and just wanted to commend me on the excellent way my blog is designed). Heh, not much to tell really, but I just might surprise few onlookers.
Well, I'm a Bosniak and let's not get into the religious/tribal issues we people have in Balkans. It's all irrelevant today, but my family and the legacy of my people brought me here and it's important to adress it accordingly.
And what do I do apart from bull........ and being a student? Well I've joined several NGO's in my time, organized an existence of one, but when I go back home I think I'll go to new lengths and join a few more. Ah yes, I'm in the United States but am going back to Bosnia in July. Scholarship, staying just for a year, some know the drill...
And I also translate stuff, from English to Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian, so if you know somebody who needs something translated direct him here, and I'll provide further confirmations of my knowledge and skill (namely "Lavirint" and "LMInformatika" publishers :).
I really wanted to say something else but forgot it now. Stop guessing, all will be explained.
The country with the biggest number of slaves is INDIA. Country with one of the largest populations in the world might claim that those people are just "poor and are really getting paid" but with a corrupt system of local goverments and really no way to control what goes on on its teritory, closer to truth sound the reports of NGO's currently working in India, that put an estimate of 20 MILION SLAVES living there (if you'd call that existence "living").
Prof. Bales explains this excelently in his book, "Disposable People: New Slavery in the Global Economy" and shows that there's a huge possibility that the cloth you're wearing right now was made by a slave (not necessarily in India, China has human rights violations beyond description, etc.). The website I gave you in one of my earlier posts, FreeTheSlaves.net is the place where you want to go and get his book and many others. All the money you give them goes directly to freeing more slaves, some of whos stories you're able to read on the website. I already have this book, bought off of that site and am definitely NOT giving or selling it away.
The award goes to Anna Pechenkina, and at least I don't have to send it far away. :D
But don't worry about it, there'll be more once in a while, can't do it all the time though. And for the end, a juicy treat for all - the second post of the day. :P Going up...
Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

Although slavery is one of the worst examples, this book approaches the problem of unifying the legal solutions of all other major violations of human rights aswell (such as child molestation). And if you don't know, how will you tomorow prevent it?

Anyway, on the lighter note, another blogging friend joined my Addictive Blog list, and he's the one who suggested new AdSense ads and the change of scenery - blame him if you don't like it. :) He'll give you all the new gadgets and web content you din't even think you needed, every day any day. After weeks of announcing and figuring out just how to promote it, here's the contest you've all been waiting for. Yes, it's gonna be tough, and yes, you can get this book just about anywhere else (especially Amazon :)), but is there anything smarter for you to do?
Not really is there? That's why you should stick with me at least until the end of this post. Anyone who's been reading my blog for the past month knows that I was in a Human Rights class in Fall semester, and others that payed more attention to my posts know that my professor was Kevin Bales. For the class I needed to get this book and it's one of the few I haven't been sorry I did.

The Mobilization of Shame:
A World View of Human Rights (Softcover)
by
Robert F. Drinan

The book has only been read oftenly, but I keep all my books in excelent condition (as my sister would tell you).
Father (yes, he's a priest AND a human rights expert) Drinan here describes the history of the human rights movement since the WWII and the obstacles it faces today. And despite the fact that the inevitable rise of human rights development has been decreased and almost stopped by the actions of the US Government lead by George W. Bush since 2001 when this book was published, and the UN's inaction even before that, it holds greate knowledge about just how the system works, what we can expect and for what we must fight.
Now after all this I begin to wonder if I want to part with this book myself... but it's time. My room is starting too get crowded and I really don't want to send 20 packages with all the stuff I buy here. That's why I'll see to some of the stuff on ebay (since you can sell anything there, and my oversized shirt isn't something worth giving away (though it is new)) at a respectful blog like this; and other stuff you can expect to be given away the same way like this book.
About the planned question... Well, it's a tough job picking a question when you don't know exactly from where to ask it. I got a general idea about a set of questions from the field of human rights I find interesting but then thought if you would find it interesting... In the end, here's what I came up with, to encompass the topics I talked about the most on this Blog:

Human rights have been developing since the beginning of time, but got affirmed in the minds of people around the world only in the past two centuries or so. From the American and French revolutions until today many documents and agreements have been signed on the road of reaching that ultimate goal - equal rights for all humans, no matter what age, color or gender.
Americans (some reluctantly) were responsible for one other thing - abolishment of the slavery around the world. But making it illegal didn't make it disappear and slavery still exists everywhere, even next door to you. Which brings us to the question of the hour:

Which country is considered by the experts to have the biggest number of slaves in the world at the moment?

Person who correctly answers this question will receive the book in their mail as soon as possible. :) I don't think the question is too hard, but you won't be able to find it easily on the common search engins.
Answers post here in the comments or on my email.
For the end, here's the guy that won my blogspace on the BlogExplosion this week: JeremyShip has a nice writer's blog where he also gives away stuff, so check it out on the link in my right sidebar or here.

Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

The trips've been great, but tiresome so I'll brief today. But tomorow's another story.
First, the surprise is: I'm giving away A BOOK! Yes, amazingly enough (if you didn't gather that much from my two clues :)) it will be a book about Human rights and the person that will get it (yes, just one 'cos it's one I bought for class and I really don't have enough money to give more then one) will have to answer the question correctly.
Now I have one more thing I need to see from everyone who comes by these days and checks out my blog: please comment! It's not that difficult, and you don't have to write down the pinnackle of the human thought, you just have to click on comments. No registration, remain anonymous (though there's no need to), all you have to do is write down that combination of letters and numbers bloggers use just to avoid spamming comments with advertisements for p.... enlargement and such.
An announcement: 'tis such a big world and people that read this blog come from all over. You also celebrate so many holidays that I would just have to write posts to wish you all the best for them every other day. On that note, here're two holidays I've missed since I've been on the road:

MERRY CHRISTMAS (to all non-Orthodox Christians, there're two)
EID MUBARAK (again, yes, to all non-Muslims, there're two)

And to end here's a sneek preview at a photo that'll decorate my blog background from tomorow or the day after - location where it was shot St. Louis, Missouri.
Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

It's the statue of an Indian near the Millennium Park, made by a Croatian sculptor Ivan Mestrovic. I kinda like it, it just has something about it...
Anyways, I've been here for more then two weeks now and what do I have to show for it? Not much really, I usually get to going to the Downtown (pretty much the only interesting part of the City) only at night and this statue is the only really succesful shot I got. I have a lot of family and friends photos inside though, so I'll probably post them later below.
I'm not revealing the surprise yet (not until I go back to the University, I don't have to drive to a post office there...), but I am going to share some stuff I've discovered in this time I've been inactive:

I've rented my Blog for the first time to Scooter McGavin over the BlogExplosion (in the right Sidebar) so, sorry everybody else, he was the first to come. Next time though, the price has to go up. ;)

New Comic Book Forum (soon a website too) on this adress.

An excellent Blog about political issues in America today - but without the political correctnes! Nicely done and for a good cause - check it out.

Today: BBC.co.uk (whose link was undeservingly erased in the process of reconstructing the Blog) brings us a story about how a Bosnian laboratory will be conducting the DNA analyses of 350 Hurricane Katrina victims. The same laboratory was involved a year earlier in the DNA tests on Tsunami victims and still continues its work on identifying people found in hundreds of mass graves all over Bosnia and Herzegovina. Just my way of paying tribute to these awesome men and women.

Can't remember anything else at the moment except that the Blog will be going under some changes these days (adding new links, changing some old ones and ads, damned ads...), and I'll just post some other photos of Chicago and myself. :)

Chicago Art Museum, the most magnificent museum I've been to, with Picaso, Gauguin, Monet... Didn't know I knew so many french painters didya? :) But seriously, I loved every bit of it and I'll definitely go and check it out some more before I leave.

Millennium Park, shiny glassy egg that reflects Chicago. But I'll try, and post some photo's aswell. After I come back I will promise you a surprise of sorts. But no revealing until then...
Well, I'll leave some hints on the way. :) First one is this link. I don't know why I didn't put this earlier, but I guess it's never too late. One of their activists and one of the few experts in modern slavery, Kevin Bales, was my Human rights class Professor this semester and that is probably the class I enjoyed the most so far in all of my studies. Not because of the topics ofcourse, which were dark and gloomy as anything, but the way it was conducted and the ideas we shared, truly amazing.
But that's not the point. Anyone who sometimes gets an urge to donate something to people, this is the place you should go to. They're doing such an amazing job all over the world, and I just hope that I'll be able to get involved in the future.
The other hint will be the best selling book on Amazon at the moment, soon to be a huuuge movie. Heh, after slaves there isn't much I can say that has any significance. There're a couple of leftovers from the last time, so let's settle that first:
Mr. Filip (SuzieQ) Andronik has an exhibit of his comic book art in the British council library in Sarajevo. All of you guys that don't have anything smarter to do these couple of days should go, entrance is free. :)

You may have seen another link in my floating sidebar. Charlie McElvy was actually brave enough to spread my ramblings two weeks ago about that Predatory Beasts comic (crazy the way it's going, isn't it?) through the Carnival of Webcomics (about blog carnivals on the link in the other sidebar), so he definitely needs a couple of clicks from all of you. Plus, he has his own webcomic, so be sure to check that out.
In the other news:

Just translating from mcn's blog: there's this guide through the best of webcomics, so check it out - here.
Dicebox (a webcomic I've recommended but left aside myself, unfortunately) is on there, as is a bunch of others I've never heard of. Definitely worth your attention.

Everyone from Croatia who means anything is coming, a couple of legends from Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina too... why not you? One of the (if not THE) biggest comic book events in Southeastern Europe is opening on Friday. Wanna check the website? Sure you do...
In the end I have to apologize too all of you that have tried to use that link on co.nr today, the people there have somehow missed my link to their website in the sidebar and put my account on ice for some time. Hence that change of arrangement, now they have TWO links plus one for each of the older posts! Bloody capitalism...
Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

This image is just a sample of what you may find if you click here, or on the SuzieQ link in the new floating sidebar I've instaled!
This artwork is by a Bosnian of all people, Filip Andronik, who's been doing design and comic book work for some time, and he claims, has the first Bosnian comic book web page.
Now if you're easily offended or have a weak heart, don't click on those links I mentioned above!!! There's some explicit (over 18) content, but the beauty of it all should interest people of all ages and sexes. :)
There's also his full (non-explicit) online comic that is just waiting to be published, so hurry and see it here before it's taken down.
Now for the rest of the news. As some of you may have observes, Round2Create is no longer the only adress you can find me with . Thanks to FreeDomain.co.nr (a link also available in the floating sidebar) now my page looks more professional with a more adequate name - http://r2cu.co.nr/. This is the last time I'll be changing the name, so I'm sorry for any and all inconvinience. Thank you to Jurica for the idea, and a link to his website (in Croatian, with a just started comic) is also in the sidebar.
For all of you who're wondering what Lavirint means (also in the sidebar), it's "labyrinth" in Serbian. :) It's a small publishing company I'm proud to say I did some work for, and for now they've concentrated on publishing comic book from an american company, Image Comics. I'll probably talk about them a little more later, just wanted to emphasise their presence in the floating sidebar. :P
And in the end, the floating sidebar. Big thanks goes to Roy Whittle (http://www.javascript-fx.com/), who made this script available at http://www.dynamicdrive.com/, and to me who adapted it with so much hard work. :)
So many links today, and so much diverse content in today's post. It's very important to mention that I'm finishing the look of the website, so if you have any complaints and suggestions this is the time to give them. All the people I have links of in the sidebars are invited to send me new logo's that will look better then the existing ones or if I don't have any at all.
See you soon.
Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

But we did see (at least from afar) most of the most famous monuments that make this city what it is. We were located in the City Center so we also saw all the old architecture that one wouldn't expect anywhere outside Europe, and also got a tour of a big fortress Americans call State Department.
But we got a chance to see a whole lot of Bosnian politicians. I do not want to curse on this blog so I will just skip the general impression I got from our political "elite" and religious leaders. With people like that our country can only go – downhill.
I did get a chance to meet a lot of interesting people outside of that group. I made a little mistake, 9 Bosnian students came to that anniversary, including me. Suffice it to say that I was just glad that Americans attending the commemoration (unfortunate choice of words, whoever named this thing) paid much more attention to what we were about then what those politicians ... had to say. The students (in alphabetical order):

Altumbabic, Sabina - University of Mississippi
Beros, Ana - University of Connecticut
Buzakovic, Darija - Univ of Maryland
Cvoro, Maja - Randolph Macon College
Drljevic, Amir - Univ of Alabama
Eskic, Aleksandar - Univ of North Carolina- Chapel Hill
Jakovac, Josip - Univ of Pennsylvania
Mandic, Asja - Tufts University
and Me. :)
I also have to thank Mark L. The celebration or whatever they're calling it will last for 2 days and will consist of intergovernmental as well as interreligious talks, and a lunch on Tuesday when I'm flying back to Memphis.
I'm staying in Memphis until Sunday though (tomorow: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire :)), and after I get back I'll stay at my friends Bethan's house until the end of the week, so I don't think I will have enough online time to actually post something here, but I'll promise I'll try.
Until then all you Bosnian speaking men and women can check out the web site of the University of Sarajevo Law School Student Organisation. Quite an interesting forum and often some news too. ;)

Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

If you follow this link, you'll find a simply drawn comic (without color, smth. I prefer very much) by Jonathan Allen (another poor student like me, trying to make a living...), about nuclearly induced temporal distortions, couple of "revolutionary" thieves that will just this one night steal 'only' food from a grocery store and a creature that travels the time and space of all the Universes in an instant.
Interestingly enough, this immediately reminded me of Narnia and Lewis' depiction of a world created and coordinated by a Lion. Also I immediately loved the weird looking characters (that might be better if drawn bigger) because of their real life-likenes, even though they're supposed to be Dogs, Cats and what-what.
One other thing (cos the comic isn't finished and I don't really want to destroy your enjoyment in reading it :)): don't be put off by the first couple of pages that don't seem to have much sense. It will be more than obvious later. Warmly recommended to any and all openminded individuals, and from today you'll be able to link to the latest page of the comic from my sidebar (if you, like me, have more than enough Bookmarks).
Also, if you feel like runing through hundreds of comics, go to the OnlineComics Website to see other online work and leave feedback or whatever to the artists.
---
In other news... :) Now you don't even have to go to the Amazon.com to search through their book and other offers - you can do it from my sidebar!!! You see how much I'm making your life easier, everything in one place and at the same time you get a chance to read my beautiful articles. Best way to repay me is with your comments and suggestions (especially on the topics mentioned in Hotty Totty), and just, be here.
Thanks for your attention.
Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

Though, he does refuse any further testing...
In other news, I have succesfully added an Online Comic Strips section to the sidebar, so now you can daily enjoy the same strips I do. Apart from Doonesbury and Boondocks, there are now also Scott Kurtz's "Player vs. Player" (PvP) and several volumes of a Comic titled Dicebox. I just discovered Dicebox (again, thanks to Darko Macan's blog for all of you who understand Croatian/Bosnian/Serbian), so we can read it together. It seems very controversial and rather too blatant at some points but story so far has only few glitches and the artwork is unusually good for web comics.
I have also more nicely layed out for you my Earlier Articles section, now going back to the first article I wrote since coming here. For earlier articles you can also browse through the monthly archives, although this November is the month I wrote the most since beginning this. I guess money is an incentive, especially if you're a student.
Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

That's America for you.
But you don't know the "supporters cheer", hehehehe. And this is where it gets funny. "Are You Readdyyy??!"

Hell Yeah!
Damn Right!

Hotty Totty!
Gosh Almighty!
Who The Hell Are We?
Hey!
Flim Flam!
Bim Bam!
Ole Miss!
By Damn!
I can just see the faces of all the people I know back home (goddamn this blog, it doesn't support smileys...). Theyre probably asking themselves: "What MADE you memorise this???!!!" Well, it was either this or let the Alabama University supporters win the "singing of the cheers" contest in the local Pub... Heh, you get the picture.
And you hear this all over the place, all you have to be is drunk (or otherwise "highspirited") and yell out "Are you ready!?" Beautiful really, especially since you get so many girls join in the singing, not like back home where it's not for women to cheer, especially when you're a STUDENT, then you don't EVER watch sports. Another thing I like about the high education in the States. And girls... Have I mentioned I like girls here?...
Anyway, for the end I will direct you to the top of the page where now you can:

1. Search the net with Google! I did this only so you'll put my blog as your starting page (as if you already didn't :)), and so you don't have to instal that search bar they offer. But you can still do these things, really.
2. Download the latest version of Firefox, the most popular internet browser after the Iexplorer (shudder). I prefere it so I think you should too. ;)
3. At least, look at the page of AdSense, Google's offer to all webmasters to add these great features to their websites FOR FREE, and get this, EARN SOME MONEY. I don't know how well it works over seas, but it doesn't cost you anything to try. All I know is that that space up there really was boring and now looks much better.

Also the sidebar is now a little lower down with the text bcos of all the adds, but they load really easy and still bring me some FREE CASH. So if you see smth nice, click on it, Google doesn't bring you spam, just great opportunities... I think...
And again nobody contacted me so I'll have to ask again and again. I leave to you all until the end of November to give me your opinions about a new name for the blog. Not to deterr from the current name too much, I thought of these THREE choices (bcos the "r2c" is already taken):

1. r2cu.blogspot.com
2. r2create.blogspot.com
3. round2c.blogspot.com

Just noticed that this message editor doesn't have the underline option. Weird...
So these're my suggestions. All comments put in the comment section, or send me an informative email to the email adress in the sidebar. Also you can contact me with suggestions about the look of the page, whether you like the adds at all (not that I'll do much about it, but they can be smaller and less pictoresque, if necessary...), also on email and comments.
Now I think about it, I am excepting original logos for this blog. I can't pay you, of course, but what ever you'd like to see here (as long as it's not an already existing logo of a company) send it in and if there're enough ideas we can vote on it together. The artist who wins gets his name written below the logo wherever it may appear.
Logo should be either a perfect square (all the sides the same, how do the Americans call these...squares?) or a regular banner size (you know, a square but with one longer sides then the others,... it usually goes to the top of the page? And I say that I know English...).
I can work on them to fit into a page but it has to be some shape or the other. Send them in the best resolution no matter how much they weigh, to the email, also by the end of November. By then I should have a couple of my own ideas and the final look of the blog prepared.
Read me tomorow.

Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

People from Bosnia and Herzegovina and neighbouring countries, unless they're either really into comics or spent some time in the States, weren't as lucky to have him in our lives every day and rarely find an interest in looking up what's this all about.
The story in short, follows the adventures of this stereotypical 6 year old, Calvin, who has no friends, loves to spent his time inside instead of outside, is no good in schoolwork, and has only two positive things in his life (as he sees it): his tiger, Hobbes, and his imagination.
How could I even begin to explain just through what do they go through? How can I explain how Calvin survives every day with a REAL LIVE tiger without being eaten alive? I don't! You'll have to do it on your own. Go to whatever P2P program or torrent downloader you have, type in Calvin and Hobbes and enjoy yourself like you never thought possible!
That is, if you don't have the money or a place to order and buy the comics in these beautiful books that are just waiting to be read... Anyway, here's a link to an excellent text about just what made them so great (thanks to Macan) for those that don't feel like reading through 10 and smth. years worth of daily comics.
As for what is new and also ingenious, here're my current favorites (not necessarily in the preferential order):

Doonesbury is THE political strip of the moment. Follow the link and see for yourself stuff you won't see anywhere else.
Unless, ofcourse, you prefer Boondocks. :) The best north America has to offer at the moment. Enjoy it!!!!

Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

So all you non-Americans don't have to worry for a long time, it will spread.
I guess I should mention a story that has a potential of becoming HUGE in the coming year. If you skip some nationalistic stuff, it seems to indicate that there is a 100m PYRAMID in Bosnia and Herzegovina! It seems to be very old, and was covered by some layers of earth over the centuries but the uncovering has begun. Follow up will be there, but if it doesn't turn out to be a great hoax, man... first pyramid in Europe...
There are some great pictures of the hill that is believed to be the "Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun" (implying its similarity to Asztec pyramids in Southern and Central America) and even if it is all bull shit, at least you get to see one of the oldest towns in Bosnia, Visoko.
Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

These things also include walking all dressed up around the Campus,... why? Who knows, maybe just to show off their high heels. (Notice: the last two girls in the line are actually walking barefoot.)

Homecoming Parade. One time in the year when they elect a Homecoming Queen and Colonel Reb that are more important then the Student Senat. And there's also a competition which sorority/fraternity has the best carrige to drive around in. Weird...

Oxford Courthouse. Btw. Oxford Square looks just like that square from the Back to the Future movies :)
Enough? I hope so because I won't be puting more pics anytime soon. Some of you may have thought that I go out every night, all night, to examin those male-female relations more closely. I am terribly sorry to dissapoint you... believe me, more then you can imagine...
I'm not saying I'm not willing. I am not saying I am not capable, oh no, I am saying I am being prevented by the State of Mississippi, and not just me, but everyone!!! There's no discrimination in these laws, oh no.

Public order shall be ensured at all times. Any and every drunken behaviour at all hours of day and night shall be stopped and taken care of immediately [by arresting the drunken person]. All public shops and clubs that pore alcoholic beverages will be closed before 1AM on ordinary weeknights. On saturdays no store will be opened after 12AM (!!!) and will remain closed all through the Holy Sunday.

This is in short what the laws (at least in Oxford) ought to look like. I haven't actually read them, but believe me, Police is there to remind me. And not just Oxford Police whose web adress you have over there, but also the University Police, and all other different security organizations keeping peace in this small community.
And THAT is not all. I haven't mentioned this before but OleMiss Campus is not part of City of Oxford, MS, but has a separate legal status. And you know what that means? More restrictions! We can't buy or KEEP alcohol anywhere on the Campus grounds.
The dormitories are SEPARATE (the best one is mine, Guess Hall, whose two wings, one for men and the other for women, connect in a small common room that we use together but still have to leave the ID's at the desk if we go to each other's wing).
All visitors (especially of opposite sex) have very restricted access to the host's room(s) [meaning, they can't sleep over and have to be out of the Dormitory by 1AM!].
There may be others but I can't think of them right now.
And all this applies to everyone living on Campus -- except, for fraternity and sorority buildings. They 'shouldn't' keep alcohol, and shouldn't party all night, and shouldn't sleep over, but does anyone check? Of course not! They have 'the land of their own' and I don't think the police can even enter their premises without their permition or a court order (oh, yeah! another little detail: every night we get a small visit from a friendly police(wo)man in that common room I mentioned). And they should also put fire alarms, but who cares!?
Now, I've only been here for two weeks, right? And am a foreigner so as a rule me entering a fraternity is very unlikely if not impossible, so these are only accounts of people who've actually been there, and I certainly intend to check it out.
I am not saying that's all they're doing, but when you read this article you will have to wonder who gets to party with restrictions like these?
Anyways, enough for now. I rarely can put in writing everything I feel or think all at once. Usually it takes time to make things sound right and I guess I can't go forever editing my posts, so I'll be writing something like a diary... I guess...
Anyways, where was I? Ah yess, the HYall's and everybody smiling all the time. I guess it's the thing that you never can know for sure who's that guy standing next to you on the bus and who's shoulder you (oh dear lord!!!) touched a little bit with your elbow while reaching for that pole you can hold on to just in case. Or just who maybe insulted by you sneezing infront of them even if you are standing 10 yards away from each other. You should say "Excuse me", just in case.
Now this is NOT what I appreciate. Damn, people, sometimes things happen and you don't have to say sorry for everything all the goddamn time! But it's like that so you have to start doing the same or you become rude, and it gets you thinking...
What I do appreciate is that when they're smiling and saying 'Hi' to you (they don't say Hi Yall if there isn't at least one person with you, obviously) they look so real! And damn, any guy, be he fat or be he thin, be he tall or be he small, appreciates it when a great looking girl smiles at him or with him while passing him on the street, no matter what she's actually thinking at that moment. And it just makes me feel better at least for a little while...
Now since I started off with girls I'll continue in the same tone. Best looking girls are sorority girls, that's obvious to anyone who's ever watched an american program involving students. But even if you don't hang out at the same places as fraternity/sorority members at the begining of every year you may enjoy the pleasure of hanging out with sorority potentials cos they still didn't pass the initiation process. And rarely will there be a satisfying conversation with them (but I did change the opinion about the rest of America a little bit) but everything else? Damn! as they say here in the South.
You see, unlike this strange picture Americans have about us, American girls are sooo more open (especially on the dance floor) then European girls that it's amazing. Most of the times you don't even have to approach them to dance, just be there, stay cool and suddenly a gorgeuse girl falls into your lap.
Now everyone who knows me knows that I am not one of the handsomest guys but boys, be prepared for anything in the USofA! And I mean it, be prepared, safety first.
You expected a safe sex web site, didn't you? :) Got to keep you on your toes or you won't be coming back here...
Now I ran out of ideas but am leaving you with enough to read as it is. Americans are a rather silly people, something they and the rest of the World know for a very long time now. But rather succesful in manifesting that silliness in the way they want to and that way really doesn't do them justice. Those movies and TV programs that are trying to show just how an American is living? Not sufficient but in the slightest.
Me, I'm living in the State of Mississipi, a rather pictoresque place, with a lot of strange and often horrible History. Now the rest of Americans are calling these people even stranger then usual but I wouldn't know... well, not yet anyway. But the difference in pronounciation of English words is more then evident and the Hi Yall's can be heard everywhere you go, which is not a bad thing necesserily as I've come to appreciate and I'm sure everybody else would aswell.
Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog

Anyways, here goes...
------------------------------------
Mirko Ilic
UNDER PRESSURE / POD PRITISKOM
ART GALLERY BiH / UMJETNICKA GALERIJA BiH
SARAJEVO / MARCH - MART 2005.

I'll start with some biography info: Mirko Ilic was born in Bijeljina (BiH) in 1956, but lived most of his life in Zagreb, Croatia. There he finished the Art School and even published his first illustration in 1972.

In 1975 he starts regular drawing for several local magazines (Studentski list, Polet, Start, Danas...) and even for international magazines Panorama and Pardon. From 1976 to 1979 he's the leader of a comic book group called 'Novi Kvadrat' / New Square that included some famous artists (few of them still famous across the Globe): Ilic-Kordej-Devlic-Kunc-Marusic.

After fulfilling his dream of being published in every major European comic book magazine he leaves the comic book drawing forever for the lack of interest and because he believes that the Movies like Terminator (!?), The Matrix and Star Wars (!!!) make drawing irrelevant since it can be much better shown in moving pictures and special effects!!!

In 1986 he goes to New York, where he cooperate's with numerous influential US magazines: Time, The New York Times, The New York Times Book Review, Washington Post, Money ... In 1991 he becama the Art Director of The New York Times, and in 1995 he starts a 3D computer graphic and animation company, which specializes for printed media and movie titles. He received numerous awards (Illustrator Society, I.D. Magazin), and today he teaches illustration on the final year of the School of Visual Art's in New York.
------------------------------------
For the end, here’re three of his illustrations that could be seen in Sarajevo in the ‘Art Gallery BiH’ in March this year. More of them can be seen on his web–site: http://www.mirkoilic.com/ .

Comic Books Movies Mountaineering Culture Blog
